HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY in Canada

Canadians have a headstart on Thanksgiving, coming in early to mid-October, instead of the late November version in the United States. The early date probably has something to do with our climate, which starts to turn into winter a litte earlier than our neighbours down south. Of course, where our "headquarters" is located, near Victoria, BC, it never really gets wintery, with only occasional snowfalls and temperatures dipping below freezing. Despite that climate anomaly, it's a cool autumn day here, just perfect for spending the day roasting a turkey and sharing a great meal with friends and relatives.
