The latest update as of October 3, 2023

It mnight appear that we're jumping ahead quite a bit, but Famoso Dragstrip put out a media release last Saturday, explaining the date change (from the originally scheduled March 7 - 10) to a week earlier. When the NHRA released their 2024 Camping World Drag Racing Series schedule at the end of August, the season opening Gatornationals event fell on the same dates as the March Meet, which necessitated the change. "The full list of equipment and personnel that is necessary to properly put on the event would not have been available" said Blake Bowser, Vice President of Famoso Dragstrip.
He went on to state "The Gatornationals are held in Florida and the two events could co-exist, but numerous vendors, racers, crew chiefs, media sources, and dignitaries would not have been available to attend on the previously announced date. This date change allows for all the parts and pieces to be in place, and for Famoso to put on a complete quality and professional show."
So there you have it. Aside from the date change it's all systems go for the 63rd running of the Good Vibrations March Meet. In other Famoso news, there is the second to last NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Western Regional of the 2023 season running this coming weekend, and following hot on its heels the following week is the Wally Parks NHRA Nostalgia Nationals, the final event of the Hot Rod Heritage Series season. Even though the Nostalgia Funny Car title is wrapped up, and the Nostalgia Top Fuel championship all but decided, there will be some great racing to close out the year. And we've got BIG Bob Snyder loading up his cameras and heading west to Bakersfield to capture it all for Northern Thunder.
