71st annual Motorcycle Hill Climb

And now for something completely different... we've got some awesome images from the Anamosa, Iowa Hill Climb that took place on the Sunday after last week's FUNNY CAR CHAOS event at Eddyville Dragway. Our travelling photographer, BIG Bob Snyder, has been a motorcycle maniac for most of his life and took a tour of the National Motorcycle Museum at Anamosa, then went to the hillclimb. Click on the poster and you'll be taken to a small page of photos from the event. Bob was able to secure clearance to shoot from the top of the hill, but he had to get up there first. Not up the race course, but it was still a major job coaxing the van up the back way to get to the top and into a position that allowed him to capture some great shots.

Don't worry about NORTHERN THUNDER changing its focus from drag racing, but we can always appreciate anything mechanically and graphically interesting when we're not up to our ears in all things drag racing. Next up will be event coverage from this week's stop on the FCC tour, at Kearney Raceway Park, starting tomorrow afternoon. Also, we'll have details from the NHRA Western Regional at Pacific Raceways... if the weather holds up, and right now it's looking rather doubtful for the weekend.
