The latest update as of May 5, 1999 8:00 am

The counter is down to ZERO.... finally. At the moment I'm about 12 hours away from departure, still with lots and lots of unfinished business and nothing packed yet. Typical Wilson. "Why wait until the last minute.... just a few minutes after is the time to start, isn't it?" In a few minutes I'll be pulling the plug on the computer and open up the case in order to remove the Racepak (data logger) download card. Not being a "techie" at all, it remains to be seen whether the computer will ever work again when I return in six weeks.

It looks like everything is ready and waiting for us in Australia; a computer with internet access has been set up for me and I should be able to do my first update from downunder sometime on Saturday night (North American time). I guess we'll see... won't we?

Not much to add at this time, except for a very big thank you to everyone who has helped and encouraged us to continue with what, at times, seemed an absolutely hopeless project. The pain and stress has all been worth it though, and as the events of the next six weeks unfold, we hope you can follow along and share in the fun... at a distance.
