The Bakersfield March Meet is a rich source of great material, and this excellent wheelstand by Texan John Hale in the "Mike Burkhart" tribute fuel funny car is typical of the action at one of the great races on the calendar. It looks like the wheelie was getting a little too high for John's liking as the butterflies are closed, but the wheels are still well off the ground. Good timing on my part, eh!
